Switching from Canva: what it does well
Canva is hard to leave for good reasons. The Canva pricing page lists a Free plan with 1.6M+ templates, 4.7M+ photos and graphics, 5GB of storage and up to 20 Standard or Premium AI uses a month. Canva Pro costs $144 a year for one person with 3.6M+ templates, 141M+ premium assets, 100GB of storage and up to 200 Premium AI uses a month. Every plan now includes access to Affinity, Canva's professional design app.
Canva Pro costs $144 a year for one person and includes up to 200 Premium AI uses a month, according to Canva's pricing page on 17 October 2026.

Why people look for Canva alternatives
The same pricing page explains most of the reasons people look elsewhere:
- Pro is for one person. Canva says only one person can use a Pro account, and Canva Teams is closed to new sign-ups, so any group must buy Business at $250 a year per person.
- AI is rationed. Allowances are per person and tiered; Ultra AI tools such as creating a video with Canva AI are limited to up to 20 uses a month on Pro.
- Trials do not show the real AI. Canva says the AI allowance during a trial is the same as Canva Free.
- Specialist work. Print merch, data reports and slide-first work each have tools built around them.
If none of these apply to you, staying on Canva is a reasonable choice.

Moving your designs out of Canva
The hardest part of leaving any design tool is the archive. Before you cancel, export every design you still use in its most flexible format: PDF for print pieces and PNG for social graphics. Canva lists PDF, JPG and PNG export on every plan, while print-ready CMYK export needs a paid plan, so do it before your subscription lapses. Rebuild your brand kit in the new tool first (colors, fonts and logos), then recreate your five most-used templates rather than all of them.
Watch the licensing. Stock photos, premium elements and templates carry their own license terms, so a design you export and rebuild elsewhere may need replacement images. Kittl's and Visme's paid plans each include their own premium asset libraries, and Adobe Express Premium includes 200M+ Adobe Stock assets.
Check which assets in an old design came from a paid library before you reuse it in a new tool.
How to choose
- List what you made in Canva over the last three months: social posts, decks, print, video or documents.
- Match the biggest category to a pick: social and flyers to Adobe Express, merch to Kittl, reports to Visme, decks to Gamma.
- Recreate one real design in the free plan of your top two choices.
- Count the AI actions you used and compare them with each plan's monthly credits.
- Price your actual team size, including seat minimums and annual billing.
- Export your Canva archive before you cancel.

How we rank
We compared each tool's documented plans, prices, seat rules, AI credit allowances, template and stock asset libraries, export formats, commercial-use terms and fit for the jobs people most often do in Canva. Every price and limit comes from the vendor's own pricing or help pages as listed on 17 October 2026, in US dollars and excluding tax. Picks weigh how much of a typical Canva workflow each tool covers against its price. Our full method is on the HumanRank ranking methodology page.
