Humanizing vs paraphrasing
Paraphrasing changes how an idea is expressed. Humanizing usually describes a rewriting goal or product category. Neither label guarantees factual fidelity, originality or a particular detector result.

Choose the actual goal
Name the problem: stiff rhythm, poor structure, repetition or a mismatch with the audience. A clear goal is easier to evaluate than a generic human score.
Check meaning
Compare claims, numbers, names and qualifications. Rewriting may change these even when the overall topic stays the same.
Keep attribution
A reworded idea can still need a citation. Changing the language does not change where the information came from.
Measure useful editing
Record the work needed to finish the text. A rewrite that needs more repair has not solved the original problem.
